Royals end losing streak

June 1, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

It finally came to an end.  David DeJesus doubled and homered and picked up two RBI as the Royals backed up Kyle Davies just recalled from Cleveland for a 4-2.

Davies, who was just called up this week from AAA Omaha, where he was 6-2 as a starter didn’t go as deep in the game as he would have liked, but nonetheless went five innings allowing  just one run. Ron Mahay and Joel Peralta got the game into the 8 th , where the Royals went old school with their closer Joakim Soria.

Soria came on to pitch two innings of relief. He gave up one run, but picked up his 12 th save.

Mark Grudzielanek was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Joey Gathright added an RBI as well.  The Royals are 8.5 games out of first place.
