Skip Schumaker watches his game winner (Bill Greenblatt, UPI) Skip Schumaker hit a walk-off double and the Cardinals beat the Rays, 5-4, at Busch Stadium on Sunday.   With the win, on Stan Musial day, the Cards take two out of three.

With runners on first and second and one out, Schumaker hit a 1-0 pitch over Carl Crawford’s head in left field.  It was Schumaker’s third walk-off hit of the year.

The Cardinals started their comeback when Schumaker hit an RBI single in the sixth and Ryan Ludwick hit a solo home run in the seventh. It was Ludwick’s third home run in two games.  It was Ludwick’s 11 th of the year.

In the top of the eighth, Crawford homered off Mike Parisi to give the Rays a 4-2 lead. In the bottom half, Aaron Miles hit a two-run single to tie the game, setting up for Skip’s heroics in the 9 th .
