The Royals stopped a 12 game losing streak against Baltimore by shutting out the Orioles 4-0 and avoiding the sweep.  Brian Bannister snapped his personal four game losing streak tossing eight shut out innings to even his record at 4-4.

The Royals scored a solo run in the 2 nd on three straight singles by Guillen, Butler and a RBI hit by Teahen.  The Royals got another single by Alberto Callaspo to load the bases with nobody out, but couldn’t score more after two ground out force outs at the plate and a fly ball out.

The Royals added another run in the 3 rd on an RBI double by Jose Guillen.  In the 6 th , the Royals chased Orioles starter Brian Burres after scoring two more runs and loading the bases again.

That was plenty of run support for Brian Bannister (4-4) who pitched eight innings giving up just two hits and two walks.  Bannister, Joey Gaithright, and Billy Butler discuss the game
