Senate leaders prepare for final week

May 11, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The 2008 legislative session is drawing to a close with the curtain set to come down this Friday at 6 p.m. And, Republican Senate leaders are hoping to complete work on a number of important bills during the remaining five days.

Senator Charlie Shields (R-St. Joseph), the Senate Majority Floor Leader, says one of the important pieces of legislation is an economic development bill. Shields says the General Assembly also needs to finish legislation on immigration reform and property tax reform … and is also looking at a voter photo identification bill, which has already cleared the House, and awaits Senate action.
