The Rockies scored four runs in the first inning and chased Kyle Lohse (3-2) after four innings. Rockies won the final game of the series 9-3 to earn a split.
Lohse gave up seven runs on eight hits while walking five. Ryan Ludwick had two home runs on the day, and had an incredible four game series in Colorado. He went 9 for 13 with four doubles, three home runs and 6 RBIs.
Tony LaRussa wanted to get Albert Pujols a day off, after he banged his knee sliding home on that game winner in the 9 th of that 6-5 win in the series opener, but LaRussa kept Pujols in the game.
After Pujols was stranded on base in the 6 th LaRussa took Pujols out of the game and Pujols could be seen kicking stuff and yelling at LaRussa for being removed and replaced by Chris Duncan.
