With QB Ryan taken by Atlanta, KC goes with Dorsey

April 26, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

4-26 Glenn Dorsey.jpg Atlanta took QB Matt Ryan and Chiefs division rival Oakland Raiders took Darren McFadden who Missouri shut down in the Cotton Bowl.  That brought the Chiefs the 5 th pick and they selected Glenn Dorsey, DT of LSU taken instead of Vernon Gholston from Ohio State.  Dorsey will help fill a hole on the defensive line that Jared Allen leaves when he was traded to Minnesota.

Here’s what NFL.com says about Dorsey.  His dominance should go a long way toward helping Kansas City rebuild its defense. He should command double-teams and the Chiefs become better up the middle instantly. There were some concerns about problems with Dorsey’s tibia stress fracture, which may have been the reason he was still on the board at this point. His best traits are outstanding agility and a great effort.
