The Royals got swept by the Indians in a double header yesterday.  A Royals’ rally came up short in game one, and in game two, nobody is hitting Indians pitcher Cliff Lee.

Brett Tomko gave up seven runs, six of those earned as the Indians jumped out to a 8-2 lead.  The Royals tried to rally with home runs by Tony Pena and Miquel Olivo, who went 3 for 4 in the game, but it wasn’t enough as the Royals lost game one 9-6.

The Royals sent their best, Brian Bannister out against Cliff Lee, but nobody can score on Lee.  He pitched a complete game shutout and beat Bannister 2-0. Lee is now 4-0 with an ERA of .28.  Bannister was going toe to toe with Lee until the 7 th inning when he gave up a home run to David DeLucci to lead off the inning.  Bannister then retired two hitters after a double to Travis Hafner, but then Asdrubal Cabrera doubled in Hafner and Bannister’s night was over.
