Christen Belcher---the girl is fast!!!

Truman senior CF Christen Belcher tied the MIAA’s career record for stolen bases as the Bulldogs swept a pair from Missouri Southern Monday afternoon (April 21) at Truman Field.

She entered the day with 149 steals, swiping two in the opener and adding a third in the nightcap.

Belcher, a Lee’s Summit, Mo., native who prepped at Notre Dame de Sion High School in Kansas City, Mo., tied the mark of 152 set by Missouri-Rolla’s Becca Alt from 1995-98.

She leads the MIAA this season with an average of 1.05 per game (41 total), and led the conference in 2007 (.91 sbpg — 42 total) and 2006 (.87 sbpg — 45 total) as well.
