The Chiefs are in the same position as the Rams in terms of having a high draft pick that they may not want.  If  push comes to shove, they’ll use to pick to either draft an offensive lineman or there is still an outside show they’ll take Matt Ryan of Boston College if the quarterback is not take by Atlanta.

As Tony Conti of nfldraftblitz.com explains, the high dollar amount the Chiefs will need to shell out for the number five pick could be too costly with so many draft needs.

The Chiefs have ten picks right now and could get a couple of more if they work out a deal with Minnesota to get their first round pick at 17 and possibly a third round pick.

Right now, the name surfacing if the Chiefs hold onto the number five pick is Branden Albert, offensive lineman from Virginia.  For some reason, his name has darted up the charts for offensive lineman.

Of course, their first choice would be Jake Long of Michigan, but Miami should have him wrapped up.  If Miami doesn’t grab him, it’s possible the Rams would take him.  Regardless, its highly unlikely that Jake Long slips down to number 5 on Saturday.
