Wade Smith The Chiefs have signed six year veteran Wade Smith.  Playing mostlye at offensive tackle, the 6’4 296 pound lineman will compete for the starting center job that was vacated when Casey Weigmann signed with the Denver Broncos.

Smith played the last two seasons with the New York Jets, primarily as an offensive lineman and on special teams. He’s also played with the Miami Dolphins, which picked him in the third round in 2003.

Smith earned consensus all-rookie honors after starting all 16 games at left tackle for the Dolphins as a rookie. He spent all 2005 on injured reserve after being injured in training camp and was released by the Dolphins in 2006.
