Three of the five seniors on the Missouri State men’s basketball team have collected the top honors for the 2007-08 season with forwards Dale Lamberth and Deven Mitchell sharing  Player of the Year while center Drew Richards is the recipient of the Guy Thompson Award.

The three Bears received the top awards along with other recognition for the squad at the Bears Basketball Recognition Banquet at Hammons Student Center Tuesday night.  The selection of Lamberth and Mitchell for the award marks the sixth time in 26 years that a tie in the voting and has resulted in co-winners.Lamberth led the Bears in scoring in 2007-08 by a narrow margin over Mitchell and led the team in three-point shooting percentage and minutes played. Mitchell was the Bears’ top rebounder and led in steals and free throw accuracy as Missouri State posted its seventh straight winning season at 17-16. Richards led the club in field goal accuracy and blocked shots.
