Steelman unveils initiative to help Missouri veterans

April 14, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Sarah Steelman State Treasurer Sarah Steelman  (R-MO) has introduced a new initiative to help Missouri’s veterans. It’s part of the BIG Missouri linked-deposit program which allows qualifying small business owners and and farmers to receive loans from their preferred participating Missouri financial institution at a rate that will usually save them about 25-30 percent of their interest costs.

Steelman says the low interest loans would extend to the families of military veterans who are killed in the line of duty. Steelman’s office is also working with the U.S. Small Business Administration to ensure collaboration with the federal Patriot Express program, which can guarantee about 75 percent of a loan for veterans.
