Bridge over Lake Taneycomo safe again

April 11, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Traffic is moving again across the Lake Taneycomo bridge between Branson and Hollister.  The bridge was shut down late this morning after a drifting boat dock was threatening to crash into the bridge.  Missouri Water Patrol Lt. Jerry Rogers says the dock is no longer drifting, and it doesn’t look like it will anytime soon.

"From what I’m observing the dock has held itself by its own anchor points which are cables and anchors on the bottom," said Rogers, "It appears that it’s come to some kind of position where it’s going to hold itself temporarily."

The dock broke away from its moorings around nine this morning because of high flood waters, which have raised the level of Lake Taneycomo.
