Serial killer Timothy Krajcir has been sentenced to 13 consecutive life sentences for five murders, seven sexual assaults, and one robbery in Cape Girardeau decades ago.

Krajcir now has pleaded guilty to killing nine women in four states between 1977 and 1982.

Seven relatives of the five women Timothy Krajcir killed in Cape Girardeau have watched him be sentenced to 13 consecutive life sentences after agreeing with the prosecutor to waive the death penalty in return for full confessions.

One of his rape victims says she has lived under a cloud for 27 years but hopes the sentencing will mean she does not have to be afraid anymore. The son of a woman he murdered says the family has wondered why she was killed in 19-82 and now knows it’s just because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Krajcir thanked the families for letting him escape the death penalty, saying he doesn’t know he could have been as generous as they have been.
