Sentences handed out in prison fraud operation

A former state prison inmate and a former Revenue Department employee have been sentenced to prison for an identity theft and fraud operation. Former Revenue Department employee Erica Kelley of Jefferson City stole identity information from Department records.

The information was used to provide cell phone service to state prison inmates, including inmate Clayton Deardorff of Kansas City. He gets five-and-a-half years in prison. She gets five years probation. They also are responsible for making more than $160,000 in restitution.

Five other people have pleaded guilty in the case.
