The state senate has finished its work on the proposed mortgage fraud law. Senator Kevin Engler’s bill gives state insurance and finance regulators more power to investigate developing cases of mortgage fraud. The bill lets state finance and insurance agencies investigate reports of mortgage fraud and fine those it finds are running shady operations. The bill has been sent to the House.
