The close race for the Democratic presidential nomination has led to a lot of claims and counter-claims. Among them is a claim that members of the media are biased in their coverage of the contest – biased in favor of Senator Barack Obama (D-IL).

That claim, which has been voiced by supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY), is being dismissed by Missouri’s junior U.S. Senator. Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO), an ardent support of Obama, insists the media are not taking sides, but are covering the campaign by focusing on the events at they unfold.

McCaskill adds this appears to be a case of someone who is behind and not winning becoming frustrated and wanting to take it out on someone. McCaskill says, "It’s way too hard to look in a mirror, so it’s much easier to say … It’s that dadblasted media that’s the problem."
