Brian Bannister knows Spring Training is a month long and he’ll take as much time as he needs to get ready. Bannister missed his spots in his first outing, giving up 7 hits over three innings and allowing four runs (three earned). The Royals lost to the Rangers 8-7.
Kyle Davies, who came over in a trade last year from the Braves for Octavio Dotel is one pitcher battling for a spot in the starting rotation. His first outing went quite well, as Davies allowed just one run on three hits over three innings.
The top of the Royals order produced as David DeJesus and Joey Gathright went a combined 3 for 4 with a walk and two RBIs.
