A 28-mile "virtual fence" that will use radars and surveillance cameras to try to stop illegal aliens from crossing the border from Mexico into the United States has been given final government approval in Washington.

The fence is being managed by Boeing’s St. Louis-based defense unit. The virtual fence system includes unmanned surveillance towers equipped with sophisticated technology that includes radar, sensors, and cameras capable of distinguishing people from cattle from as far as ten miles away.
