Mike Gibbons

The leader of the State Senate has cancer. Senate President Pro-Tem Michael Gibbons (R-Kirkwood) has released a statement in which he says he recently learned he has prostate cancer. Gibbons adds he will undergo surgery in early March to remove the prostate and the cancer.  The statement explains Gibbons expects "a full and rapid recovery and no effects on his capacity to serve."

Gibbons says his prognosis is for a full recovery and a full life. He states he intends to serve out his Senate term and will continue to run for Attorney General.
