Weather Shuts Down KCI for Several Hours

Heavy snow and slush forced Kansas City International Airport to close for almost six hours on Sunday.

It’s the longest airport closing in KCI’s 35-year history. Airport workers say they could not stay ahead of yesterday morning’s heavy, wet snow and slush. The airport reopened about noon.
