Governor Matt Blunt (R-MO) has mobilized thirty members of the National Guard to help people in Cape Girardeau and Bollinger Counties recover from this week’s ice storm. Their main job will be going door to door to check on the residents of the areas.
AmerenUE reported earlier this morning it still had about 2,800 customers without electricity in the Cape Girardeau and Jackson areas.
The Department of Natural Resources has been authorized to grant waivers to help speed-up the removal of tree limbs and other debris.
