Bond Expects a Huckabee Fade

February 6, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

Senator Bond thinks Mike Huckabee’s days as a viable contender for the Republican nomination are numbered.

Huckabee finished second in Missouri’s Presidential Primary yesterday. But Bond thinks he’ll fade. Bond says the pundits feel Huckabee might win in Mississippi but won’t win in other states. Bond says Huckabee is an attractive candidate who has won with his personality, quick wit, and can give a good speech. But Bond doesn’t believe Huckabee will be able to pick up enough votes to be a factor by the time the Republican National Convention is held in September.

Bond says the winner of Missouri’s Presidential Primary, John McCain, has some question marks among members of his own party. Bond says it will be "a challenge" for McCain to unit the party behind him. The Senator says McCain has shown he can work with Democrats. The question, says Bond, is whether he can show he can work with Republicans.
