The St. Louis area community of Valley Park wins a legal battle over illegal immigration and how to deal with it. A federal judge in St. Louis has ruled the city has the right to suspend the permits of companies that hire illegal immigrants.

The community instituted the ordinance in the belief that one of the biggest magnets attracting illegal immigrants is the availability of jobs. This ruling is the opposite of one issued by a federal judge in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, who struck down a similar ordinance in that state last year.
