State Representative, Wife, Charged in Hit and Run

January 25, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

State Representative Brad Robinson of Bonne Terre is charged with hitting a pedestrian with his pickup truck and driving away. His wife, Tara, is charged with lying about who was driving. And the man who was hit is filing a lawsuit. The charges say Robinson was driving the truck that hit Donald Marler of Desloge but he and his wife changed seats afterward and she later told police she had been driving.

But investigators say a surveillance camera recorded the Robinson’s truck pulling into a school parking lot after the incident, and taped the couple switching seats.

A special prosecutor has charged Robinson with leaving the scene of an accident, a felony. His wife faces a misdemeanor charge of making a false declaration.

Marler is at home, recovering from his injuries. His lawyer says he is gathering information for a lawsuit.
