Billikens Set NCAA Record In Loss To George Washington

January 11, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

I cannot tell a lie…The Billikens loss to George Washington was just plain awful.  SLU opened Atlantic-10 play with a 49-20 loss.  The 20 points the lowest in Division I basketball since the shot clock was introduced in 1984.

SLU scored just seven points in the first half.  They shot 7 of 48 for the game…14.6%.  Bryce Husak was their leading scorer with five points off the bench.

Kevin Lisch, who was 1-7 shooting got the points he needed to give him 1,000 points for his career.

I’m not going to beat these guys up too much, chalk it up as just one of those nights when nothing fell, but after getting off to a 9-5 start on the season, knowing this would be a tough conference schedule I know Rick Majerus didn’t want to see a start like this.  Hopefully, this team will be able to grow from this.
