Drury, Northwest Missouri State Nationally Ranked

January 9, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

The Drury Panthers, who play down in Springfield are one of Missouri’s best kept secrets around the state.  The Panthers are ranked 6th in the nation in Division II basketball with an 11-1 overall record.

Coach Steve Hesser has taken the Drury University men’s basketball to tremendous heights in his three seasons at the helm of the Panthers, winning 21 games each season and making the NCAA-II Tournament field in both 2005-06 and 2006-07. Hesser’s career mark at DU is now 63-25, with a promising 2007-08 season awaiting for a squad that loses just one senior starter.  Drury hosts Quincy tomorrow night.

Also, the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, 9-2 this year are ranked 16th.  The Bearcats continue MIAA play tomorrow night with a game at Missouri Western.
