Contractor Facing Charges Manages to Win St. Louis City Contracts

January 7, 2008 By admin Leave a Comment

A St. Louis contractor charged with cheating on state tax forms, underpaying workers, and trying to bribe a street inspector has gotten two contracts with the city since his indictment.

The city cancelled the contracts with Joseph Kuchar of House Springs after the St. Louis Post-Dispatch started asking about them.

The city streets director says the federal prosecutor never notified the city of the charges against Kuchar.

Kuchar has pleaded not guilty to mail fraud and bribery charges.
