Governor Matt Blunt (R-MO) wants to put more money into higher education. In appearances throughout the state in the last couple of days, the Governor has pledged to ask the Legislature to set aside $100-Million for need-based scholarships – a $27.5-Million increase. This would quadruple the state’s investment in college scholarships.

The Governor is also recommending an additional $40-Million in direct funding be made to colleges and universities. But that’s not all. He also wants more money – $13.4-Million to improve access to health care.
