Billiken’s men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus was excited with the 2008 recruiting class.  Signing national letters of intent, 6’9 power forward Willie Reed from Shawnee Mission, KS, 6’8 power forward Brian Conklin from North Eugene, OR, 6’4 guard Femi John from McCluer North, 6’0 point guard Kwamain Mitchell from Whitefish Bay, WI, and 6’11 center Brett Thompson from Vienna, IL.

Rivals.com ranks Thompson the number 18 center in the country.  Conklin, playing at the same school that Danny Ainge attended, broke Ainge’s school record by scoring 41 points in one game.  John, helped McCluer North to a 5A title averaging 15.3 points per game. Mitchell is the 17th ranked guard in the country by Scout.com.

Majerus said each of the players are good students and of high character.
