After a slow start, the Missouri Tigers pressured Central Michigan into 18 turnovers and the Tigers used their size which is something new.  6’8 juniors DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons combined for 41 points in the Tigers 87-76 win in the first round of the CBE Classic.  What’s impressive about Carroll and Lyons, they shot a combined 18 of 21 from the floor.  Only three missed shots and two of them were from Carroll who attempted three pointers.

Coach Mike Anderson and some of the players admitted they were a little tight with the first game meaning something, but settled down midway through the first half.

The Tigers play Fordham tonight with the winner advancing to the CBE semifinals next week at the new Sprint Center in Kansas City.  Fordham beat Central Missouri 76-66.
