Steve Wagner gave the St. Louis Blues a 1-0 lead on a power play goal midway through the 1 st period against the Blackhawks in Chicago, but the Hawks came back with a pair of power play goals of their own before the period ended and went on to double the Blues 4-2 Friday night at the United Center.

It was Wagner’s 2 nd marker of the season. Patrick Kane and Jim Vandermeer responded for Chicago to put the Blackhawks up 2-1 heading into the 2 nd .

Rene Bourque scored a shorthanded goal for Chicago just :16 into the 2 nd period to give the Blackhawks a 2 goal cushion. David Perron’s 2 nd goal of the season made narrowed the lead to 3-2. And it stayed that way until Yannick Perreault scored an empty net goal with just over a minute to play in the 3 rd to make it 4-2.

The Blues are in 5 th place in the National Hockey League’s Central Division with 14 points. They get back into action Tuesday night at Scottrade Center when they host the Detroit Red Wings.
