Supreme Court Reprimands Four Lawyers

October 31, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Supreme Court has publicly reprimanded four Kansas City area lawyers for loaning money to a judge who heard their cases in her courtroom. The court stated that John Quinn, Cecil Williams, Vincent Esposito and Salvatore Mirabile “engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice.”

The lawyers loaned money to then-Kansas City Municipal Judge Deborah Neal. An investigation turned up no evidence that Neal did the lawyers any favors in exchange for the loans.

Neal needed the money to cover gambling debts, debts that led to a conviction for mail fraud. Neal is scheduled to finish a 28-month sentence in a federal halfway house in about ten days.
