Senator Chris Koster (R-Harrisonville) has made the announcement that had been expected for months. He is formally in the field of candidates vying to be the next Attorney General of Missouri.

Koster, who made headlines when he bolted the Republican Party to join the Democrats, faces two fellow legislators in the Democratic Primary – Representative Jeff Harris (D-Columbia) and Representative Margaret Donnelly (D-St. Louis). Koster says he has the experience that is needed to be the top law enforcement official in the state, pointing out he is the only candidate for Attorney General with any law enforceemnt experience.

Senate President Pro-Tem Michael Gibbons (R-Kirkwood) is the only announced Republican in the race, so far.
