Dog Fighting Ring Broken Up

October 22, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Authorities say they have broken up one of the biggest dog-fighting rings in Missouri. Three men have been arrested and 26 dogs have been confiscated in a raid on a barn near Dudley, in southeast Missouri’s Stoddard County.

A spokesman for the Humane Society of Missouri says the dogs probably will be euthanized after the investigation is finished. Fighting dogs are not considered adoptable.

Investigators say the barn contained training equipment and a dog ring with a blood-soaked carpet.

Dog-fighting is a felony in Missouri.
