I don’t know if you’re like me or not, but maybe it’s the whole Midwest vs. East coast thing that gets me fired up, but I love when the Cardinals can stick it to the Mets.  Joel Piniero did the sticking last night, pitching eight innings of shut out ball allowing just three hits as the Cardinals win 3-0 in a make-up game from June.

The Cards scored early, Albert Pujols who just a week ago thought his season may be over due to a sore calf, went 2-4 with another RBI.  The Cards finish on the road at Pittsburgh.

The Mets fall into a tie with Philadelphia.  The Phillies were as many as seven games back on September 12th.  The Phillies are 11-3 since then, the Mets, 4-10.
