Royals starter Brian Bannister couldn’t make it out of the first inning, giving up 5 runs in 2/3 of an inning.

The Royals found themselves down 5-1 after one inning.  However, Tony Pena Jr. helped the Royals battle back, going 4 for 4 on the night, with two doubles, 3 RBI and his second home run of the year.

The Royals bullpen has been consistent over the summer and they were superb last night as six relievers combine for 8 1/3 innings of shut out ball.  Royals come back to win 9-5.

They now move into a tie for fourth place with the White Sox.
