No charges will be filed in St. Louis against parents of a seven-month old girl who died after being left in a hot car for four hours.

Prosecutor Jennifer Joyce says the girl’s death was an accident – that the mother thought the father knew the girl was in the car – and the father did not know she was there.

Joyce says the parents might be guilty of poor communication skills and poor parenting skills, but there is not enough evidence to bring a case for criminal negligence beyond a reasonable doubt.
