Live Buglers Returning to Military Funerals

September 21, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Live buglers will once again be a part of military funerals in Missouri. Governor Matt Blunt (R-MO) has directed the Missouri National Guard to use live buglers to play taps at military funerals.

In a statement released by the Governor’s office, Blunt says, "It is important that as a state we honor the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom."

Blunt’s order is subject to the availability of buglers. It reverses a decision by the National Guard to discontinue the use of buglers because of reductions in federal money for the Guard.
