Royals Shut Out By White Sox 7-0

September 20, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Brian Bannister has pitched well for the Royals, but made it only five innings giving up six runs on eight hits, three of which were homers.  The Sox Jose Contreras pitched complete game shutout, as the Royals fall 7-0.

Sox manager Ozzie Guillen called Contreras’ outing his best all season, scattering five hits.

Jim Thome hits two homers to give him 30 on the year.  He’s now at 502 career home runs.  Juan Uribe hit his 20th for the Sox.

Alex Gordon was back in the lineup after sitting out a game to rest his sore knee after he fouled a ball off himself.

The Royals are a 1/2 game behind the Sox for fourth.  Zach Greinke faces John Garland for the afternoon start.
