Royals’ Buckner Picks Up First Major League Win

September 16, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

Royals rookie pitcher Billy Buckner picked up his first major league win as the Royals two game losing streak came to an end with a 4-3 win in Cleveland.  Buckner went six innings giving up one run on five hits and left with  3-1 lead.  KC extended the lead to 4-1 in the seventh, but the Indians responded with two of their own in the bottom half of the seventh to cut the lead to 4-3 off reliever John Bale.  Emil Brown picked up three hits on the day and drove in two runs as four relievers combined to hold the lead.
