Hincape Commands Tour

September 15, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The first Tour of Missouri professional bicycle race ends tomorrow with a 78-mile race on a street circuit in St.Louis. Today the riders race for 126 miles through the countryside between Jefferson City and St. Charles.

The biggest name of the race is Alberto Contador, the winner of the Tour de France. But he’s running 19th, more than 15 minutes behind the leader, American George Hincapie, a South Carolinian who was made a living riding a bicycle for more than a decade.

Hincapie had a minute-40 second lead after yesterday’s race between Lebanon and Columbia.
