Regional planning agency officials from throughout the state descended on Jefferson City, Wednesday, to talk about future statewide transportation priorities.

Each of the regions had at least one representative presenting a short list of proposals for the region or metropolitan area he or she represents. Chris Rutledge, a Planning Manager with the State Transportation Department, says that while there has been a great deal of improvement, there is still much more to be done and MoDOT wants to hear from people from various parts of the state.

MoDOT officials will study the proposals put forward by the representatives from throughout the state and will put together a project priority list. Rutledge says that while a good deal of the talk at this meeting has been about building new roads and maintaining existing ones, MoDOT is focused on all forms of transportation – private and public.
