Inmate Accused of Stabbing His Attorney

August 27, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

A Dunklin County jail inmate is accused of stabbing his public defender after an interview. The sheriff says inmate Ricky Sanchez used a toothbrush that had been sharpened at one end to stab public defender Rebecca Burke several times before running from the room. Authorities say he also attacked two courthouse employees who confronted him before a Kennett police officer stopped him.

Both people injured in the incident have been treated at a hospital and released. Sanchez was being held on charges of child molestation and endangerment, and of sexual misconduct.
