St. Joseph Loses Out on Bid for Premiere Jesse James Movie

August 22, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

First, Springfield lost out in the competition for which Springfield would host the grand opening of the new Simpson’s movie. Now it appears St. Joseph, where Jesse James was killed, has lost out on getting the grand opening of a new Jesse James movie – "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."

City tourism officials are trying to convince Warner Brothers to open the film in St. Joseph. But Warner Brothers say it will open at film festivals in Canada and in Italy. The film, starring Springfield actor Brad Pitt, was shot in Canada.
