The Royals bats finally woke up against the team with the worst ERA, avoiding a sweep of the Rangers. Alex Gordon hit a game tying homer in the 7 th , and catcher John Buck opened the game up with a bases clearing double in 4 run 8th to win 6-2. Royals starter Leo Nunez left after three innings with a blister. Rookie Ryan Braun piched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and get his first major league win.
Kansas City is now off to Oakland for a weekend series with the A’s.
