Former Kansas City Councilwoman Saundra McFadden-Weaver admits she was surprised when the jury in her mortgage fraud case found her guilty. She says she has not decided whether to appeal.

She was convicted of lying on mortgage papers when she said she planned to live in a Lee’s Summit home on which she was getting a loan. Somebody else lived in the house. Mortgage payments were not made and the lender foreclosed last year.
