Cardinals infielder Scott Spiezio has left the team to seek treatment for a substance-abuse problem. According to pre-games notes given to the media, Spiezio has been moved to MLB’s restricted list.
Spiezio’s spot on the roster will be filled by former pitcher, converted outfielder Rick Ankiel
