Cards Can’t Solve Peavy

August 8, 2007 By admin Leave a Comment

The record setting offense from a night before was absent as the St Louis Cardinals were shut out by the San Diego Padres 4-0 in the second of a four-game set at Busch Stadium.

Padres starter Jake Peavy allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings of work for the win.

Anthony Reyes was the hard luck loser for the Cards.  Reyes pitched well giving up just one run on seven hits in seven innings of work. Jim Edmonds went 3-for-4 in the loss.

Game three of the four game series is tonight.
