A couple of Mizzou starters went down with injuries in practice.  First, cornerback Hardy Ricks suffered a dislocated shoulder diving for a ball.  The initial report says he should be alright by the September 1 opener against Illinois.  The injury the Tigers are unsure about is to tailback Tony Temple who was carted off the field after banging this right knee with a couple of defensive players.

The extent of Temple’s injury is unknown.  He comes into the 2007 season as the leading returning rusher in the Big 12 with 1,063 yards in 2006.  This could prove to be a big obstacle for the Tigers to overcome.  If Temple’s injury is more than just a bruise, the Tigers will need to rely on a trio of backups, Jimmy Jackson, Marcus Woods and Earl Goldsmith
